The “Colours of Resilience” art festival in Goa is a vibrant celebration of creativity, empowerment, and inclusion for persons with disabilities (PwDs). This event provides a platform for talented artists with disabilities to showcase their work, engage with the community, and promote social awareness. The festival features a wide array of artistic expressions, including paintings, sculptures, and other forms of visual art, created by local artists from diverse backgrounds and disabilities.
One notable initiative within the festival is the Art Inc. exhibition, held at the Museum of Goa in Pilerne, which displays over 100 artworks by 47 emerging and established Goan artists with disabilities. The exhibition aims not only to highlight their creative talents but also to foster an inclusive environment where these artists can gain recognition and financial independence. This aligns with the goals of the broader Purple Fest, another event that promotes inclusivity through various activities such as exhibitions, performances, and workshops designed to empower PwDs.
