Congress President Amit Patkar, alongside MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira, criticized the BJP-led Goa government over alleged job scams, voicing concerns about the return to departmental recruitment practices. According to Patkar, the BJP’s direct recruitment approach bypasses the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) promised by Congress, which would ensure fair, transparent hiring. Patkar highlighted past controversies, such as recruitment irregularities in PWD, GMC, and police departments, emphasizing the need for merit-based processes to prevent further corruption.
He further cautioned Goan youth and their families not to trust promises of government jobs without proper selection standards, claiming the BJP seeks to “sell jobs.” Ferreira echoed these concerns, demanding accountability and transparency in job placements. Congress remains committed to opposing any rollback on SSC recruitment and aims to safeguard opportunities for young professionals based on merit rather than political influence or financial transactions.
