Former Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar has reiterated his concerns over the state’s recruitment irregularities, labeling them as potential “Goa Vyapam-like scandals.” He has demanded an independent inquiry led by a retired High Court judge to investigate the alleged cash-for-job scam, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice for affected youth.
Chodankar criticized Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, accusing his administration of enabling recruitment scams by amending the Goa Staff Selection Commission Bill, 2019. This amendment, he claims, allowed departments to bypass transparent hiring processes, leading to alleged manipulations such as altered examination results and compromised physical tests.
The Congress leader highlighted previous recruitment controversies, including the alleged Public Works Department (PWD) scam linked to Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate. He argued that these recurring issues underscore systemic corruption in the government and demanded immediate reforms to restore public trust.
