In an effort to tackle the growing garbage menace in Goa, Shankar Polji has initiated the “Sunday Cleaning Drive” Project No. 92 along Cortalim Road. This initiative aims to address the widespread issue of waste in public places and encourages locals to take responsibility for maintaining clean surroundings. Polji, a passionate environmental activist, is leading this community-driven effort with the support of Zarin, who has also appealed to the public to refrain from throwing garbage on roads and in open spaces.
The cleaning drive comes at a time when the region is dealing with an ongoing waste management crisis, with local authorities focusing on effective solutions. In areas like Cortalim, the Panchayat has been organizing various meetings and awareness drives to discuss better waste disposal methods.
Through this campaign, Polji and his team aim to set an example for the rest of the state, encouraging the active participation of local residents in keeping their neighborhoods clean. They also emphasize that a cleaner Goa can only be achieved through collective effort, urging every citizen to take pride in their environment and contribute to its betterment.
