Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured that the government will take strong action against those involved in the recent cash-for-jobs scam, pledging to arrest all accused and recover money from them to reimburse the victims. In his statement, Sawant emphasized that the government would seize the assets of the accused to return the funds taken from innocent individuals.
The scam, which involves fraudulent job offers in exchange for money, has led to multiple arrests, including the recent detainment of BJP worker Shruti Prabhugaonkar. To date, 18 individuals have been arrested, and Sawant has called on the public to come forward with complaints to ensure further arrests.
The Chief Minister also clarified that the BJP would dissociate itself from any member found guilty of involvement in the scam, with party officials reinforcing that investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, opposition leaders, including AAP Goa President Amit Palekar, have called for a judicial commission to probe the matter, citing potential involvement of senior BJP leaders. Sawant maintains that the state government is committed to transparency, with reforms in place for government recruitment.
