The Anjuna-Caisua Gram Sabha descended into chaos as members clashed over unresolved issues. Concerns included unaddressed resolutions from past meetings and the Panchayat’s approval of new construction projects without proper infrastructure.
Villagers criticized the Panchayat for neglecting critical problems, such as waste management and illegal constructions. Many accused officials of approving projects that lacked basic amenities like access roads, worsening local hardships.
Sarpanch Lavino Rebello assured residents that the Panchayat had forwarded pending resolutions to higher authorities but admitted delays in action. However, the assurances failed to pacify the crowd, leading to the meeting’s abrupt adjournment.
The gathering also coincided with heightened scrutiny on illegal coastal constructions following a High Court inspection, further intensifying public dissatisfaction with the Panchayat’s accountability.
