MLA Vijay Sardesai has raised concerns over the Goa Police’s inability to recover proceeds of crime in a case where the Mumbai Police successfully retrieved the funds. Speaking about a July 2023 case, he emphasized the need for accountability and questioned the competence of the Goa Police in handling sensitive cases, comparing their actions to a “caged parrot” controlled by higher authorities.

While he acknowledged the Chief Minister’s recent assurance to apprehend the culprit, Sardesai urged the government to focus on delivering tangible results rather than diverting public attention. Specifically, he pointed out that the ongoing “cash for jobs” scam should remain a priority. Sardesai has been vocal about his demand for a judicial probe into this scam, arguing that public trust in the Goa Police’s impartiality has waned. He also mentioned a “madam” reportedly involved in the job scam, calling for decisive action against those responsible rather than engaging in political defamation.
