In December 2024, Venzy Viegas, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), was re-elected as the President of the Carambolim Communidade for the term spanning March 2025 to March 2028. The re-election was attended by approximately 41 committee members, including Attorney Agnel Colaco, Treasurer Rosh Colaco, Substitute Attorney Juze Viegas, and Substitute Treasurer Antonio Mascarenhas.

During his re-election speech, Viegas emphasized the importance of safeguarding the Communidade’s land from encroachments and potential government acquisition. He expressed concerns that the government might attempt to transfer acquired land to private entities, a move he deemed inappropriate. Viegas assured the community of his commitment to protecting and preserving Carambolim’s land, ensuring it remains secure for future generations.
