Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Protests Offensive Remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) recently organized a protest condemning offensive remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah against Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The protestors demanded Shah’s resignation and public apology for his comments, which they deemed disrespectful to Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.

The demonstration took place near the official residence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in Panaji. Congress workers gathered to express their outrage over the alleged derogatory statements, highlighting the importance of respecting national icons and their contributions to India’s social fabric.

During the protest, several Congress leaders were detained by the police. The authorities cited the need to maintain law and order as the reason for the detentions. Despite this, the protestors remained firm in their demand for accountability and respect for Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.

The GPCC has called for a thorough investigation into the matter and has urged the central government to take appropriate action against those responsible for the offensive remarks. They emphasized that such statements undermine the values of equality and justice that Dr. Ambedkar stood for.
