Goa Animal Liberation March Highlights Animal Rights Concerns

On December 21, 2024, the annual Goa Animal Liberation March took place in Panaji, organized by Vegoan, a grassroots animal liberation group. Participants gathered to raise awareness about the exploitation of animals for food, clothing, entertainment, experimentation, and labor, urging the public to reconsider their choices and adopt more compassionate lifestyles.

The march commenced at Ambedkar Garden and proceeded to Azad Maidan, with participants holding placards and chanting slogans against speciesism—the discrimination that fuels the exploitation of sentient beings. The event aimed to educate the public on the ethical treatment of animals and promote veganism as a means to reduce animal suffering.

Vegoan emphasized the importance of recognizing and challenging speciesism, advocating for a society where all sentient beings are treated with respect and compassion. The organization plans to continue its efforts in promoting animal rights and encouraging individuals to make informed, humane choices.
