On December 21, 2024, Goa’s Deputy Speaker, Joshua D’Souza, responded to the serious allegations made by Siddiqui Suleman, a former political associate. Suleman had accused D’Souza of being involved in land-grabbing activities during his time as a legislator.
Speaking to the press, D’Souza firmly rejected these accusations, calling them “false and malicious attempts to damage my reputation.” He emphasized his dedication to public service and transparency throughout his tenure.
D’Souza also questioned Suleman’s credibility, pointing out that Suleman is wanted in connection with a land-grabbing case. “It’s important to question the credibility of someone who is an absconding accused before making such allegations,” D’Souza said.
The Deputy Speaker expressed confidence in the legal process and assured that a thorough investigation would clear his name. “I am fully prepared to cooperate with any inquiry. Let the law take its course,” he added.
