During a recent press briefing, Goa Police provided new details about the arrest of Suleman Siddiqui, who is involved in a land fraud case. Director General of Police Alok Kumar confirmed that Siddiqui was being transported from Kerala to Goa, where he will be formally arrested and questioned. The police team is expected to arrive shortly in Goa.
The police also revealed that Siddiqui’s wife, Afsana, will face arrest for her involvement in the fraud case. Siddiqui had been hiding in Kerala, where authorities detained him, and during the search, they recovered essential documents, including several bank passbooks, Aadhaar cards, phones, and sale deeds.
The investigation uncovered that Siddiqui had evaded capture for nine days, changing locations multiple times across Karnataka and Kerala. His location was eventually traced, leading to his arrest by the Kerala police after a tip-off from Goa Police. Both he and his wife will be formally arrested and interrogated in Goa.
Additionally, Amit Naik, a former IRB constable, admitted to assisting Siddiqui in his escape and transporting him to Karnataka. As the investigation continues, further charges are expected against Siddiqui and his wife. Investigators will also verify the authenticity of videos linked to the case.
