During Goa’s 13th State Road Safety Week, observed from October 14 to October 20, 2024, a variety of awareness initiatives took place across the state. These events were organized by local bodies, schools, and government departments to highlight the importance of road safety. GOACAN (Goa Civic and Consumer Action Network) held a campaign in Nuvem in collaboration with Carmel Higher Secondary School, where students displayed messages like “Slow Down, Save Lives” and “Do Not Drink and Drive,” aiming to encourage responsible driving habits.
Additionally, the Office of the North Goa Collectorate held an event near the Panjim Jetty, where drivers wearing helmets and following traffic rules were given roses as a gesture of appreciation. Dy. Collector Ishwar Madkaikar and other officials supported this drive to raise awareness on road safety and responsible driving practices, reinforcing the state’s commitment to reducing traffic accidents and promoting safety.
