Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Akshat Kaushik addressed the unfortunate death of Karan Kashyap, a 26-year-old Delhi resident who collapsed during the Sunburn electronic dance music (EDM) festival on December 28, 2024, in Dhargal, North Goa. Kashyap reportedly lost consciousness around 9:45 PM on the event’s first day. He was immediately transported to Vision Hospital in Mapusa, where he tragically passed away during treatment.
An autopsy was conducted at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, with the exact cause of death pending further investigation. SP Kaushik assured a comprehensive inquiry into the incident, with legal action to follow if foul play is detected.
In light of the tragedy, Goa Police have intensified patrolling in vulnerable areas and are collaborating with local communities to ensure better safety measures. SP Kaushik emphasized the importance of public engagement, urging citizens to promptly report any suspicious activities or safety concerns.
