Goa Seeks ₹3,600 Crore from Finance Commission for Development

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that the Goa government has submitted a formal request to the 16th Finance Commission, seeking ₹3,600 crore in financial aid. The funds are intended to boost key sectors, including tourism, healthcare, agriculture, water resources, and disaster management.

The proposal details Goa’s financial needs, with a significant portion allocated to tourism, followed by investments in healthcare and agriculture. CM Sawant emphasized that the entire state cabinet, along with senior officials, worked together to prepare and submit the memorandum.
