On January 19, 2025, Union Minister Shripad Naik and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo inaugurated a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and flagged off eight new mini garbage collection vehicles in Calangute. The initiative, undertaken by the Calangute Panchayat, also included the opening of a new community hall.

These efforts aim to improve waste management and enhance local infrastructure, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment for residents and tourists in the region.
