Goa proudly represented its rich cultural heritage at India’s 76th Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2025, held at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The state’s tableau, themed “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Development), highlighted Goa’s deep-rooted traditions alongside its modern progress.
The display featured a Goan woman holding a traditional lamp (divja), symbolizing the warmth and vibrancy of Goan culture. The historic Aguada Lighthouse, a key landmark of the state, was also showcased, emphasizing Goa’s maritime significance. Adding to the spectacle, artists performed traditional Goan music and dance, bringing the tableau to life with vibrant choreography and colorful costumes.
The tableau’s creation involved a dedicated team of Goan artists, including renowned artisans specializing in Kaavi art—a traditional red-soil mural painting style unique to Goa. The intricate designs reflected the state’s architectural and artistic heritage, making the display visually striking and culturally authentic.
Goa’s participation in the Republic Day Parade was a proud moment, allowing the state to showcase its unique blend of heritage and development on a national stage.
