AAP President Amit Palekar has been vocal about the issues concerning potholes in the St. Cruz constituency, particularly highlighting the situation in Merces. Recently, he led an initiative where party members filled potholes with cement and rubble in an effort to draw attention to the poor road conditions affecting local residents. Palekar expressed frustration over the ongoing neglect of road maintenance by elected representatives and urged them to take action similar to the proactive measures seen in other constituencies, such as Benaulim and Velim. He stated that if local officials fail to address the situation, the AAP will continue its campaign to fill potholes throughout the area​.
