The North Goa District Road Safety Committee has been actively addressing the rising concerns about road safety in the region. During its meeting on October 23, 2024, the committee focused on strategies to improve road safety, particularly at accident-prone areas. One of the key discussions was to audit 65 identified black spots, where corrective measures will be applied, and data from these zones will be made publicly available.
The committee has also laid emphasis on creating awareness about road safety. This includes involving various departments and local bodies to promote responsible driving, especially among tourists, and focusing on safer bus transport. Efforts will include activating panchayat-level safety committees and ensuring better awareness among students and their families.
