Shankar Poliji recently spoke in support of former Sancoale Sarpanch Premanand Naik, who is on an indefinite hunger strike against the Bhutani Infra project. Naik’s protest began as a demand for the revocation of a construction license granted to M/s Parmesh Constructions Company Limited for a significant housing development in Sancoale, which he argues threatens the village’s character and environment.
Poliji emphasized the importance of community support and urged local authorities to heed Naik’s demands. The ongoing hunger strike has attracted attention from various political figures and activists, raising concerns about Naik’s health as it enters its third day. Calls for action have been made to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and other officials to intervene and address the villagers’ concerns regarding the project.
