On December 19, 2024, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders in Goa, including Valmiki Naik, expressed strong disapproval of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comments about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Shah had suggested that the Congress party’s frequent references to Dr. Ambedkar had become a “fashion.”

During a discussion with reporters, the AAP leaders emphasized the significance of Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to India’s social justice and democratic framework. They strongly condemned Shah’s comments, asserting that reducing Ambedkar’s legacy to a mere fashion was disrespectful.

The AAP leaders called for an apology from Amit Shah and reiterated their commitment to upholding Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals of equality and justice in Goa.
