AAP Goa President Amit Palekar expressed serious concerns after being interrogated for over five hours at the Old Goa Police Station regarding a controversial video involving Suleman Siddiqui, an accused in a high-profile land scam case. Palekar claimed he was treated unfairly, being interrogated like a suspect instead of a witness. He emphasized that witness statements are supposed to be voluntary, but the manner of questioning suggested a deliberate attempt to target him.
Palekar further alleged that the investigation lacked independence, stating that the Investigating Officer repeatedly left the room to take instructions from senior officials, suggesting external interference. He also questioned the authenticity of a second video where Siddiqui accused him of coercion, claiming the accused appeared to be under duress and reading from a prepared script.
The AAP leader argued that the investigation seemed designed to shield BJP leaders allegedly involved in Goa’s ongoing land scams while using opposition figures as scapegoats to divert attention. He criticized the police for failing to conduct a transparent and unbiased probe and accused them of covering up lapses in the case.
Palekar concluded by calling for accountability and impartiality in the investigation process, warning that he would pursue judicial action if these concerns were not addressed. He reiterated his commitment to exposing corruption and ensuring justice is served.
