AAP President Amit Palekar Reacts to Sunil Kawthankar’s Summons in Suleman Khan Video Case

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa President Amit Palekar has expressed surprise over the Old Goa Police’s summons to Congress Vice President Sunil Kawthankar concerning the video of fugitive Siddiqui Suleman Khan. Palekar noted that despite informing the Investigating Officer (IO) about his absence from India until December 23, he received a notice to appear on December 19. He questioned the urgency of the police in probing the source of the video, suggesting that the investigation might be politically motivated.

Palekar further clarified that he is not representing Suleman Khan in any legal capacity and has not signed any Vakalatnama or appeared in court on his behalf. He emphasized that the opposition is being targeted, while the actual accused individuals have not been summoned. He stated, “We are not the accused; they have not sent summons to the accused. The people who have been named in the video have to be sent summons. Here we are being hounded and harassed.”
