Goa’s Disability Alliance Seeks Government Support for National Tournament

The Disability Alliance for Inclusive Goa (DAIG) has approached Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Sports Minister Govind Gawde, Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Desai, and other local leaders, requesting financial assistance for their participation in a tournament set to take place in Indore on February 5th.

DAIG has been actively working to promote inclusivity in sports and other activities for persons with disabilities. Previously, in collaboration with the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities and the Rotary Club of Panjim Riviera, they organized a patriotic karaoke singing competition in August 2024, exclusively for individuals with disabilities, in celebration of Independence Day.

With this appeal, DAIG aims to secure sponsorship that will allow their athletes to compete at a national level, showcasing their skills and determination. The organization believes that government and community support can play a crucial role in empowering differently-abled athletes.
