Recent complaints have surfaced regarding the state of the toilets at Kala Academy in Goa, raising questions about ongoing cleanliness and maintenance efforts. This issue follows a significant renovation of the Academy that reportedly cost around ₹56 crore, amidst allegations of mismanagement and corruption involving nearly ₹49 crore.
The Task Force overseeing the renovation, led by theatre artist Vijai Kenkre, expressed disappointment not just with the overall quality of work but also highlighted specific issues such as inadequate air conditioning and persistent leakages.
This latest development regarding the dirty toilets adds to the scrutiny of the management’s efforts to maintain the Academy’s facilities, especially with the upcoming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) scheduled to be held there soon.
