Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, along with Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas and emerging public leader Yogiraj Kamat, recently conducted an inspection of the River Sal and Tollebandh. This joint effort was aimed at addressing concerns regarding the river’s maintenance, particularly the need for de-weeding and desilting before the upcoming monsoon season. They emphasized that clearing the river and its tributaries is essential to prevent flooding in nearby areas like Benaulim and Comba.

Kamat raised specific concerns about the ecological impact of the proposed concretization of the riverbanks, advocating for a more cautious approach that prioritizes environmental considerations.
