MLA Viresh Borkar Rebuts AAP President Amit Palekar’s Critique of Revolutionary Goans Party
In response to recent remarks by AAP President Amit Palekar, who suggested that the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) is only active during election periods, MLA Viresh Borkar has issued a detailed rebuttal. Borkar emphasized that RGP has been consistently active since its inception in 2017, addressing critical issues such as coal pollution, unauthorized settlements on communidade land, and illegal land use changes in Goa. He highlighted the party’s involvement in protests against amendments to the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act and the submission of the POGO Bill in the assembly to safeguard Goa’s identity. Borkar also noted RGP’s opposition to the three linear projects, contrasting it with Palekar’s stance. Furthermore, he questioned Palekar’s silence on matters like land conversions in Seraulim and a ₹130 crore scam involving an associate of his alliance partner, suggesting a selective approach to activism.
