The Electricity Department worked tirelessly overnight to restore power to Anjuna, Assagao, and parts of Vagator following a significant outage caused by an overload fault. The issues began near Union High School in Assagao, where a failure in the 33 KV underground power line disrupted service on Friday night.

Initially, while some areas in Assagao had their power restored, residents in Anjuna, Caisua, Chapora, and Vagator faced extended outages. The department’s team, led by Assistant Engineer Rama Sawant, identified the fault location on Saturday morning, ultimately resolving the issue by late afternoon. Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo visited the site to ensure the repair work was expedited, highlighting the importance of quick restoration for local residents.
