In light of recent statements made by MLAs from the ruling BJP party, there has been growing concern about reckless behavior by tourists on Goa’s Mandovi Bridge. Numerous accidents, many fatal, have occurred due to overtaking and speeding. Despite repeated requests made to traffic police officers for an awareness drive on signal jumping and dangerous driving, no strict action has been taken against such tourists.
This raises the question: Who should be held accountable? Is it the rent-a-car owners, the tourists themselves, or the MLAs for their statements? With the situation continuing to deteriorate, will the traffic police finally take serious action for the safety of the people?
