On his birthday, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar inaugurated the underground cabling project along FL Gomes Road. The event saw the presence of Mormugao Municipal Council Chairperson Girish Borker, Ward Councillor Shami Salkar, and other officials.
This initiative is part of a broader plan to improve Vasco’s infrastructure by replacing overhead cables with underground systems. The project aims to enhance power reliability and improve the city’s appearance.
The cabling work along FL Gomes Road is being carried out at an estimated cost of ₹6 crore and is expected to be completed within three months. The overall underground cabling project for Vasco constituency is valued at ₹100 crore, covering both low-tension (LT) and high-tension (HT) cable installations.
MLA Salkar emphasized that the goal is to complete all underground cabling in the city before the monsoons. Significant progress has already been made, with underground cabling completed along Swatantrata Path and from Thakker House to the IOC junction.
