Goa’s ministers recently met with the 16th Finance Commission to present the state’s financial requirements. Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar expressed confidence that his sector would receive due consideration. Meanwhile, Revenue Minister Babush Monserrate stated that the Chief Minister and other ministers had put forth Goa’s demands, which the commission acknowledged and assured to review.
The 16th Finance Commission, led by Chairman Dr. Arvind Panagariya, is evaluating the financial needs of states for the 2026-2031 period. Goa hopes to secure a just allocation to strengthen its infrastructure and economy.
