In a significant development regarding the ongoing investigation involving Subhash Velingkar, the former chief of the RSS in Goa, he has been granted anticipatory bail by the High Court of Bombay at Goa. This bail is in connection with an FIR filed against him for allegedly making offensive remarks about the relics of St. Francis Xavier.
Velingkar’s legal counsel informed the High Court that he will comply with the summons and appear at the Bicholim police station, which he did recently. His questioning lasted about 15-20 minutes, during which he chose not to address the media. This case has stirred considerable public interest due to the sensitivity surrounding religious sentiments and the prominent figures involved.
