The Congress party in Goa is raising strong demands for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the ongoing cash-for-jobs scam. This follows multiple arrests in the state, with people allegedly promising government jobs in exchange for large sums of money. Congress leaders, including Sunil Kawthankar, have alleged that political backing, particularly from BJP functionaries, is enabling the scam’s persistence. Kawthankar claims that the investigation so far is only scratching the surface and needs to go deeper to uncover the political connections behind the operation. The party is also calling for a judicial commission headed by a retired high court judge to ensure a fair investigation.
