The newly formed Task Force Committee for Kala Academy, which consists of 13 members including artists and government officials, held a media briefing recently. The committee, chaired by a noted theatre artist, aims to assess the current state of infrastructure at the iconic academy and recommend improvements and upgrades. This initiative comes ahead of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), scheduled for November, during which Kala Academy will host various events including film screenings and exhibitions.
The committee is composed of various stakeholders, including representatives from the Kala Rakhonn Mand, the Charles Correia Foundation, and government officials. Chief Engineer Santosh Mhapne serves as the Member Secretary, and IAS officer Prasad Lolayekar is the nodal officer facilitating coordination with the government.
