Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas has extended his support to the daily wage workers of Goa’s Forest Department, describing them as the “unsung heroes” who work tirelessly to protect and preserve the state’s rich biodiversity.
In a recent statement, Viegas praised the dedication of these workers and emphasized the importance of empowering them. The workers, who play a crucial role in forest conservation, have raised concerns about inadequate pay and lack of job security. Despite years of service, many continue to face financial instability and limited benefits.
The MLA assured them that their grievances would be presented in the legislative assembly. He highlighted the need for fair treatment and recognition of their contributions, advocating for better policies to improve their working conditions and provide long-term job security.
This initiative aims to shed light on the efforts of those who work behind the scenes to safeguard Goa’s natural heritage while calling for necessary reforms to support their welfare.
